Wall Panel of Andichi Amman Stands Sentinel

Andichi Amman is the sister of Chitragupta (or Chittira Puttira as we Tamils have it), Secretary to Yama. It is a belief that Karuppana Swamy and Andichi Amman safeguard an ancient village called Paralai.

This wall panel is sculpted using Athi Maram (Fig Tree wood). Amman’s full form made of the same wood can be seen in the Renukambal Temple in Ganesapuram.

Statues must be placed in the office or workplace as well as in the home and especially in the pooja room. This is quite beneficial as this wood is usually used in temples for pooja (yakam) and also has medicinal value.
