Description
Garudalwar is a faithful devotee of the Lord Sri Venkateshwara. He stands with his hands joined in supplication (the Anjali pose). Being the Lord’s mount, he is shown with outstretched wings, ever ready to carry him.
Garuda represents the highest position in the devotees because none can fly to that height. He has the strength of the bull (Nandi) and the tremendous velocity of the Swan. Garuda is always associated with Lord Vishnu and the mark on His forehead (Tilaka) indicates Vishnu.
Garudalwar’s statue can be placed in the office, workplace or home. However, the statue must be placed facing the West as this protects us from diseases and blesses us with a long life.
