This beautiful wooden wall panel is alive with many figures and colors! The main three deities are the seated forms of Ganesh, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Saraswati is seated to Ganesha’s left and is playing her customary instrument called a veena. Lakshmi is seated to Ganesha’s right and holds two lotus flowers, symbols of fertility and purity. Between the three gods are two, small dwarf attendants of Lord Ganesh called Gana. Gana is how Ganesh got his name because he is the “lord of Gana. Flanking both Saraswati and Lakshmi are two Dvarpala standing with one leg up.
